Lawrence Hall of Science (LHS)
Lawrence Hall of Science is the public science center for the University of California, Berkeley. LHS is a national leader in the development and support of science and mathematics instructional materials for grades preK-12. GEMS, FOSS, MARE, Family Math, EQUALS, SEPUP, and OBIS are some of the many LHS projects in use around the world. One in five children in the U.S use instructional materials developed at LHS.
Marine Activities Resources and Education (MARE) is a K-8 ocean science curriculum and professional development project, designed to meet the needs of English language learners and other underrepresented students. Over 700 schools have implemented the MARE program across the U.S., in Mexico, Finland and Japan.
LHS serves as the Central Office for COSEE CA and leads the Communicating Ocean Sciences and the Ocean Literacy Campaign initiatives.
